The kokum butter (Garcinia indica seed butter) we now use is the raw, unrefined butter from India. As such, it retains all its beneficial skin properties as well as its natural aroma; this is a slightly earthy, almost ‘mushroom-like’ aroma. We strongly feel that the slight change in the balm’s aroma is more than compensated for by the benefits obtained by including the raw butter, rather than the lesser value refined version, in the balm.
